Angela Akins Gracia, a young lady who was passionate in sports, chose to try playing golf. In order to learn the art of creating a confident yet controlled swing Angela took a few lessons. With time her experience grew and she bagged over 8 tournaments as a high school student. Garcia was captain of Mable Falls' high school team, and took it to 3rd in regional competition in 2003. The team then finished 6th in the year 2006, being the team that finished sixth. Garcia has been awarded over 17 medals in national championships and belonged to the Women's Texas Golf Association. After graduating from high school, Garcia was admitted into Texas Christain University studied there for a few years before transfer to The University of Texas. As she progressed through the years, her competitiveness grew stronger. Angela Akin Garcia, despite her happiness and satisfaction playing professional golfer, had no intention of pursuing the career. She instead pursued journalism. In the end, when her graduation from the university she was offered the job of a Fox Sports Southwest journalist.
